Introducing the Unity Series Clarinets | Celebrating 90 Years of Uebel

For centuries, the development of the clarinet has given rise to two iconic traditions. One carries the rich heritage of the German school. The other has shaped the worldwide influence of the French school. They differ in structure, differ in musical language, and each has inspired generations of devoted players. At Uebel, we believe that true innovation begins with respect for tradition. As we celebrate our 90th anniversary, Uebel is proud to introduce the new Unity Series Clarinets, featuring the Uebel Enhanced Boehm Mechanism. Unity was not created to change tradition. Instead, it reconsiders every detail that shapes the playing experience while remaining firmly rooted in the French system.

We have always believed that genuine innovation is not about changing what players already know and trust, but about making performance feel more natural, stable, and effortless. That is how Unity was born. Preserving the core spirit of the French system, Unity incorporates the Uebel Enhanced Boehm Mechanism and introduces refinements to multiple key elements of the instrument. It does not redefine tradition—it allows tradition to become even more complete.

The Superior II enjoys many of the successful features of the Superior design, such as wonderful presence and projection, and adds some special characteristics of its own. Its black carbon fiber rings make the clarinet lighter and more resonant, and also has unique bore variation to combine freedom with stability in an ideal way.

Musical luminaries such as Mozart, Mendelssohn, Strauss, Boulez, and Stockhausen deserve recognition for their inspired compositions. To this end, the Uebel Superior Basset Horn was designed with such smoothness of tone and precise intonation that it transforms the perception of the instrument itself. It is not merely an auxiliary instrument, but a tool for expression of the highest caliber.

The Zenit Basset shares the beautiful, lush and sweet sound qualities of the Zenit line. It is the ideal instrument to facilitate the artistic and technical demands that repertoire such as Mozart’s sublime Concerto inspire. The basset lower joint is also available separately and can be used with the regular Zenit A clarinet. F. Arthur Uebel recognizes that artistic freedom and personality are essential for the discerning musician. The Zenit and Romanza models offer two unique barrel styles that invite color exploration. Traditional– the regular barrel showcases the standard artistic features expected of all F. Arthur Uebel clarinets, clarity, flexibility and a singing quality. Thick barrel – designed for the player that wishes to have a more robust, powerful and deep tone, without sacrificing response.

The Zenit Bass Clarinet combines F. Arthur Uebel’s renowned craftsmanship with innovative acoustical engineering. Its advanced Zenit bore produces a focused, resonant sound with remarkable depth, warmth, and projection throughout the full range to low C.

Crafted from carefully selected Grenadilla or Mopane wood, naturally seasoned for over ten years to ensure exceptional stability and tonal character, the Zenit Bass offers exceptional response and tonal consistency. Combined with an advanced Bb mechanism, an integrated three-stage register key system, refined ergonomics, and a dual low-Eb and low-D key design, it provides effortless control, smooth register transitions, and outstanding playing comfort.
