The unique design of these strings welcomes the bow to sink into them to create what feels like a limitless depth of sound. Thanks to their special material properties, the play-in time of the Insula strings is reduced to a minimum. They maintain their tuning reliably even under fluctuating environmental conditions.

The position, height, rotation and tilt of the meticulously shaped, hardened Swiss maple chin plate are fully customizable allowing comprehensive individual adjustments. The low springs offer a more conventional chin rest feel, while the higher springs allow players with a longer neck to play more comfortably than ever. Berent Korfker explains the new revolutionary approach of the KorfkerSpring as following: “Unlike traditional concave chin rests, the chin plate of the KorfkerSpring is convex, and features a finely adjustable ridge which invites a lengthening of the spine. The flexibility of the spring at the heart of the PIRASTRO KorfkerSpring awakens the innate balancing system in our neck and upper body which, while present in everyone, is often dormant or suppressed. What I personally can’t get enough of is how my violin sounds and responds when I play with the KorfkerSpring. Our violin string set EVAH PIRAZZI® NEO was designed in close collaboration and with the wonderful support of Janine Jansen. Together we developed a string set that offers great power and volume in its low frequencies, brilliance and focus across the entire sound spectrum and an inspiringly simple and direct response.

When developing new strings for orchestral string instruments, personal contact and intellectual exchange with musicians play a very important role. This encourages us to explore new paths and discover new worlds of sounds. Adrian Müller, Technical Director at Pirastro GmbH, speaks about the development: “Asking the musician what they are looking for always comes first when developing a new string set. The intensive collaboration with violinist Janine Jansen led us to implement a new manufacturing process. Evah Pirazzi Neo is a synthetic core string engineered to have exceptional tuning stability and therefore is ready to play immediately after installation. Its particular construction and carefully chosen materials generate a high carrying capacity and projection. This is notably supported by a unique E-string whose special gold coating provides depth and brilliance to the entire set. With extra support from technical measurements and analyses, we constructed the Evah Pirazzi Neo violin strings to have a distinctive overtone spectrum with strong fundamentals, resulting in an overall clear and powerful sound. Most importantly, we did not need to increase the tension of the individual strings to accomplish any of this.”
